Partnerships that Make A Difference

This past holiday season we had the honor of joining forces with premier senior care provider, Home Care Assistance, to support Maria Shriver’s Women’s Alzheimer’s Movement.

For the month of December, Home Care Assistance matched our Rivet Revolution $10 donation for every WAM Bracelet sold. For a $100 purchase (3 Bands), we jointly donated $60 to The Women’s Alzheimer’s Movement! The response to the charity matching promotion was amazing and we are humbled by everyone’s support of rivet Revolution and the Women’s Alzheimer’s Movement.

Our shared goal was to raise awareness around the question of why women are disproportionately affected by Alzheimer’s, inspire change, and accelerate progress in Alzheimer’s care, research, and support through engagement of a broader audience.

Why it matters:

  • One in 10 people age 65 and older has Alzheimer’s dementia.
  • Almost two-thirds of Americans with Alzheimer’s are women.
  • Alzheimer’s Disease is the 6th leading cause of death in the United States.
  • Every 66 seconds someone in the United States develops the disease.
  • More than 44 million people worldwide suffer from Alzheimer’s.

Home Care Assistance provides in-home senior care to help older adults thrive at home with optimal independence, health, safety and happiness, all while affording their loved ones complete peace of mind. Their specialized approach to home care, innovative spirit, unique company culture and expert team all contribute to their success in elevating the standard of care for aging adults. The Rivet Revolution team had the honor of meeting Lily Sarrafin, CEO of Home Care Assistance at Maria Shriver’s, Women’s Health Summit in November and our brief but meaningful conversation led to this amazing collaboration with HCA. So on behalf of WAM and Rivet Revolution, thank you Lily!

The Women’s Alzheimer’s Movement, founded by Maria Shriver, is a global alliance of individuals, organizations, researchers, foundations, influencers and industry leaders committed to finding out why Alzheimer’s discriminates against women. They believe that by answering the question of why women are disproportionately affected by Alzheimer’s, we will unlock the other mysteries surrounding this mind-blowing disease and that will lead to a cure for all.
